1. What is "sound absorption"

Sound absorption refers to the use of sound-absorbing materials or sound-absorbing structures to absorb and consume incident sound energy and reduce reflected sound, thereby reducing indoor noise. When the sound wave is incident on the porous sound-absorbing material, it will vibrate and rub against the air and the hole wall, converting part of the sound energy into heat energy, and this process is called sound absorption. 2. What is "sound insulation"

The so-called isolation of "sound insulation" means isolation and separation. Block noise from entering spaces that require sound insulation. The sound insulation structure is mainly used to block the sound, reduce the transmission of noise, and separate the noisy environment from the quiet environment.

3. The difference between sound insulation panels and fabric acoustic panels

For a single material, the sound absorption and sound insulation effects are often not compatible. The difference between them is mainly reflected in the following two aspects:

Product performance is different

According to the law of mass, the greater the density, the heavier the material, and the tighter it is, the better the sound insulation effect will be. On the contrary, the smaller the density, the lighter the material, and the more pores, the better the sound absorption, but the sound insulation effect is insufficient.

Different application scenarios

For places with high reverberation noise and high sound requirements, sound-absorbing panels should be used as much as possible, such as concert halls, recording studios, conference rooms, and other places that require high indoor sound quality. The use of sound-absorbing materials can reduce reverberation time and improve sound quality. If the noise value is relatively large and the noise cannot be effectively reduced through the interior, a sound insulation board can be used to isolate the noise in a space. So sound absorption is not equal to sound insulation.
